I have a professional background in housing and regeneration. My interest in housing began over 15 years ago as a tenant representative in Liverpool.
I have worked for Liverpool City Council and have run my own housing consultancy and specialist governance support consultancy.
I have worked with TAROE for over five years, and had the pleasure of becoming the full time Executive Director in December 2007. |

 Katie McMahon Office Manager
Hi. My name is Katie McMahon. I joined TAROE as the Office Manager in May 2007. Previous to this, I had worked in the voluntary and community sector for about 10 years.
I had worked for a Credit Union and also for a volunteer bureau among others.
I find working within the third sector, very rewarding and especially working at TAROE, where this tenant led organisation is currently thriving and having input into major decisions which will affect each and every tenant.

 Valerie Schmidt Receptionist
Hello I'm Val,
I started my position for TAROE as the new Receptionist on the 2nd of June 2008. Previously I was employed with Lancaster University as Receptionist for 11 years and I have also worked for Knowsley Borough Council as a Finance Cashier based at one of the Boroughs, one stop shops.
The last four years I was living in Germany and Teaching English from home. It is very nice to be back living in England and I am enjoying very much my position as Receptionist with TAROE. Of course being a new member of staff I am learning every day, more and more about TAROE and find it all very interesting.
